3 Debates Saturday August 1st
RSVP for the Debate

The Somerville Democratic City Committee is hosting 3 debates for each of the open seat Democratic primaries: the 27th and 34th Middlesex House districts and 2nd Middlesex Senate district. These debates will take place from 5-8 pm at Somerville High School Auditorium at 81 Highland Ave. Come hear from the candidates running to be the new legislators representing Somerville, Medford, Cambridge, and Winchester!

  • 6:00 PM 2nd Middlesex State Senate Debate Burhan Azeem Christine Barber Matthew McLaughlin Erika Uyterhoeven (Thomas Hopcroft has withdrawn from the race.)

  • 7:00 PM 27th Middlesex State Rep Debate Ben Ewen-Campen Olivia Gilligan-Corsetti

Please join us to hear from all the candidates! There are no Republican, 3rd party, or unenrolled candidates for any of these legislative districts, so the September 1st Democratic Primary will be the decisive election.   • 2026 Caucus Elections

    The Somerville Democratic City Committee will hold its caucus on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 11:30 AM at the Somerville High School Cafeteria (81 Highland Avenue, Somerville, MA 02143).

    At the caucus, registered and pre-registered Democrats in Somerville will come together to elect delegates and alternates to represent the city at the 2026 Massachusetts Democratic Convention, and to connect with neighbors and fellow Democrats.
